ABOUT THE Plated Lizard

In the face of danger in their natural habitat, Plated Lizards employ a defensive strategy by wedging themselves into rocky crevices for protection.

Adorned with robust scales, their bodies exhibit an armored appearance. During the breeding season, male Plated Lizards develop vibrant and colorful throats, adding a captivating display to their overall appearance.

As omnivores, these lizards have a versatile diet that encompasses both meat and plant material. While their menu includes a variety of food sources, their preferences lean towards beetles, as well as the consumption of soft fruits or flowers, which form a substantial portion of their dietary intake.
