Retail Supervisor

This is a full time role of 40 hours per week, based over 5 days per week.

Salary circa £19,000 p/a

Working under the guidance of the Commercial Operations Manager, the Supervisor should ensure the The Farm Shop is run efficiently and a quality service is delivered to customers. They must have great product knowledge, exceptional communication skills, and be ready to respond to customers’ needs and requests in a responsible and approachable manner.

Main duties would include;

  • Actively assisting in the day to day running of The Farm Shop and entry points into the farm.
  • A hands-on role maintaining product levels and presentation, whilst giving great service to our customers.
  • Supervising a small team and supporting them to achieve the very best.
  • Collating information and providing feedback to assist in orders being placed.

An understanding of food safety, stock rotation and allergens would be beneficial although full training can be given. Experience of supervising or leading a small team would be advantageous, whilst experience of working in a fast-paced, customer facing environment is essential.
Due to the sale of alcohol, applicants must be aged 18 years or over.

Sous Chef

Mainly working 8am to 5pm daily, including weekends. Occasional evenings during events and Christmas period.

The Sous Chef will be responsible for the daily running of the kitchen, including daily Health & Safety paperwork, ordering and monthly stock takes.

Reporting to the Catering manager the successful candidate will be responsible for executing the menus and dishes from the senior management teams as well as creating and executing their own ideas.

As well as the day to day restaurant service, Jimmy’s Farm also has an excellent wedding venue, and a variety of catering outlets around the wildlife park.

This ever expanding leisure facility will offer many opportunities for progression.

With the “Field to Fork” ethos you will never work with fresher rare breed meats, straight from the farm with endless possibilities.

The Candidate would ideally have 2 years experience in a senior role, with a good eye for health & safety standards.

Education Officer

Full time, mainly Mon-Fri but will need to be flexible.

Assist in the implementation of an education strategy that addresses all forms of education, including development of new programmes.

·      Organise education activities for zoo visitors, including trails, arts and crafts, and presentations.

·      Co-ordinate school, college, and youth group visits.

·      Assist with the running of Jimmy’s Farm and Wildlife Park’s Zoo academy.

·      Hands on working with a range of species to be used in the education programs.

·      Prepare and develop educational resources.

·      Deliver national curriculum-linked teaching.

·      Make educational outreach visits to schools and other institutions.

·      Assist in the organisation of zoo events.

·      Assist with organisation of interns, work experience and volunteers.

·      Co-ordinate and manage our inhouse research projects.

·      Co-ordinate and manage our conservation and release projects.

·      Develop and organize a team of education volunteers.

·      Assist in the general duties involved in the running of the Education Department.
