ABOUT THE Bactrian Camel
The magnificent wild Bactrian camels trace their origins from the steppes of central Asia to the Mongolian deserts, but unfortunately, they are now critically endangered.
In their natural habitat, the grey wolf is the sole predator of wild Bactrian camels.
Tragically, the population of these camels in the wild is estimated to be as low as six hundred to a thousand individuals.
A remarkable characteristic of Bactrian camels is their ability to drink saltwater without experiencing any negative effects. They can consume up to fifty-seven liters of water in a single drinking session.
Distinguishing between Bactrian camels and Dromedary camels is simple: their humps form the shapes of ‘B’ and ‘D’ when the camel is upright.
