ABOUT THE Eland
The Eland, despite its resemblance to cows, holds the distinction of being the largest antelope in the world. It possesses remarkable endurance, capable of maintaining a trot indefinitely, and can effortlessly jump a 1.5-meter (4 feet) fence from a stationary position. Both males and females display tightly spiraled horns.
Did you know
To conserve water, these animals have a unique adaptation. On hot days, their bodies can allow their temperature to rise by up to 7 degrees Celsius (13.5 degrees Fahrenheit), reducing the need for excessive sweating. As the sun sets, their body heat radiates out into the cooler air.

Within the Suffolk Savannah, amidst our Zebra herd, you can spot these magnificent Elands. They add to the captivating beauty of the landscape, showcasing their presence alongside their striped companions. Observing these graceful creatures in their natural habitat is an experience to cherish.
