ABOUT THE Domestic Yak
Yaks have large lungs and hearts, helping them survive in thin mountain air.
Their blood contains more red blood cells than other cattle, ideal for high-altitude living.
Yak wool (khullu) is softer than sheep wool and valued for making warm clothing and blankets – even used in high-end fashion.
