Project Description

Argentine Black & White Tegu at Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park

Tupinambis Merianae

Argentine Black & White Tegus live in a wide range of climates in Argentina; they can be found in both tropical areas and temperate climates that have cold winters.

During cold weather, these Tegus will hibernate generally for about six months from September to march.

Although they are terrestrial, Argentine Tegus are excellent swimmers that can stay underwater for long periods of time.
