Tip Tap, our lowland tapir, turns 12!
To celebrate her birthday her ranger team organised a birthday party complete with birthday cake and presents.
Tip Tap even shared her cake with son Tobias, they both enjoyed the party and especially enjoyed the delicious cake made by ranger Hollie.
Lowland tapir is an endangered South American mammal that can be found in montane and lowland rain forest.
Did you know the tapir’s closest relatives are horses and rhinoceros? They are semi – aquatic mammals and spend a large amount of their time in the water. They will eat aquatic plants, bathe, mate and go to the toilet in water!
