New for summer 2023

NEW RARE BREED AREA

We are delighted to announce that our new Rare Breeds Area will open this July. For the first time, you’ll be able to access areas of JFWP that were previously not available for visitors to explore.

This gives you the opportunity to meet and learn more about our Rare Breeds including:

  • Rare Breed Sheep
  • Rare Breed Pigs
  • Suffolk Punches (large horses)

PROTECTING OUR RARE BREEDS

We are proud members of the RBST (Rare Breeds Survival Trust) whose mission is to ensure that we do not lose the diversity of our native breeds.

The RBST run a programme of monitoring, saving and promoting the breeding and registration of rare and native breeds.

Jimmy, is proud to be the Vice-President of the RBST.

Today we said goodbye to our Asiatic lion, Kamal. Whilst today is a sad day for us all we also celebrate the long life of Kamal. Reaching the remarkable age of 16, he became Britain's oldest Asiatic lion in captivity - an incredible milestone for an Asiatic lion.
