Meet Alan! Alan is one of our two plated lizards that have recently joined us in the Reptile House.

Did you know…

🦎 When threatened in the wild, they will wedge themselves into rocky crevices.

🦎 Their bodies are covered in thick scales giving them an armoured appearance. Males develop bright coloured throats in breeding season.

🦎 They are omnivores, meaning they eat meat and plant material. Their diet mainly consists of beetles and soft fruits or flowers.
