We love our new birdhouses…

We are over the moon with our lovely new birdhouses which ‘Tin Man Designs’ very kindly designed and made for us. He also designed our bird tables that you can see in the courtyard outside the restaurant. Steve from Tin Man Designs has provided some background information on the birdhouses:
Six years ago I read an article about how blue tits often nest in scrap metal cars and abandoned petrol tanks because of the security and warmth that the metal gives them. This gave me the idea to use the metal for house and to keep the temperature down to an ideal nesting conditions, I used wood for the roof. I have always admired how beautifully formed seed pods are but are sometimes overlooked because of their size.I wanted to create a larger seed pod for the main body of the house. The birds are naturally drawn to seed pods through their eating habits, so this seemed like an appropriate form for the bird house to take.
The design also suits every style of garden ‘especially in the rust finish’! For the past six years now the original prototype has had blue tits nest with all of their young successfully fledging. I find that moment the most rewarding for my efforts.
The satisfaction gained, knowing you have helped increase the wild bird population.
Each house is custom made, takes 2 to 3 weeks to produce and comes with instructions on how to install and advice on where to position the house in your garden.
