Halloween fun this week
It’s been a busy week at Jimmy’s Farm HQ! From 23rd October to 31st October, we’ve been welcoming new faces and regulars to our spooky season.
We have to say a big thank you to our grounds team who have grown a wonderful mixture of pumpkins and squash use in our restaurant and wildlife park.
Steve McQueen up to mischief
Steve McQueen, the cheeky meerkat, stole Jimmy’s pumpkins right before our spooky season was about to begin!
He, and the rest of the meerkat mob, hid them across the Farm. Luckily, and thanks to our many helpers, we did find all the pumpkins and thwarted Steve McQueen’s plans.
Our Pumpkin Hunt had nine clues to lead helpers to find the pumpkins and unscramble a word to win a prize. We’ve put one of our clues below, could you guess what animal’s enclosure it leads to?
To give you a hint, my stripes are like your fingerprints! No two animals are the same.
Meet the ‘spooky’ animals
Our amazing ranger team have put on ‘meet the animals’ sessions but with a spooky twist!
Pebbles the spooky sheep loved meeting everyone this week on her daily walks and our spooky bugs have definitely caused some terror in The Tropical House.
Curator and Rare Breeds Officer Tom said:
“I had so much fun doing “spooky bugs” over half term and teaching children all about our amazing Madagascan hissing cockroaches, African land snails and stick insects!”
We caught up with some more members of the team to see what their highlights of the week were!
Lauren, our Marketing Executive, gave the Customer Service team a hand this week. She said:
“I helped the team by handing out lollies to the winners of our pumpkin hunt. I’ve really loved getting the chance to connect with our visitors and find out what they enjoyed about their visit. Some of them have enjoyed their day so much they upgraded to an annual membership!”
Commercial Manager Kirsty said:
“The highlight of my week was seeing the comradery across all teams. Everyone pulled together to deliver a fantastic Halloween schedule that was so well received. I dressed The Farm Shop with props and pumpkins, and this was so much fun!”
